The concept for the family room was to provide a versatile space for the entire family along with guest accommodation. The multi-purpose room needed to include a desk, seating area and ample storage for a TV, books, art supplies and games.

Bespoke shelving and cupboards made by a local carpenter created a space for every item and ensured the entire floor to ceiling height was utilised. The open shelving is ideal for books and vintage treasures to be displayed while the low level cupboards allows toys and games to be easily accessible for the children while being kept out of sight when not in use. The Victorian table I sourced doubles as a study and craft area while the sofa bed provides practical seating and offers a place for overnight guests to stay.

The bold wall colour compliments the original wooden floor boards and creates an ideal backdrop for a personalised gallery wall.
